America was founded with no guarantee of success, no assurance of good fortune. It was founded on the belief that people could govern themselves. It was founded on hope. We share that hope.

We are forward-thinking Democrats who believe that reasonable men and women working together, can find solutions to such pressing issues as health care, climate change, and unemployment. We believe that in a world of global corporations, giant agribusiness, and other monied interests, ordinary people, working cooperatively, can make a difference.

If you share that belief, I think you will be right at home with Carbon County Democrats for Change. Many, but not all of us, worked in the Obama campaign. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that there were, as Howard Dean likes to say, “Democrats from the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party” in Carbon County. When Obama actually won Carbon County, we realized that when we work together, we can win. We also discovered that we liked working with each other.

Carbon County Democrats for Change are a group of Carbon County Democrats who are interested in national, state and local politics. We know that electing a President is just the beginning. We have over seventy members. We meet monthly and try to use each meeting to advance our goals--to take action. We are a part of the local Democratic Party and are also aligned with Organizing for America.

President Obama has said, “Real change starts at the grassroots—not in Washington.” Join us and be a part of real change.
